Depot Supply Specialist

The Supply Specialist performs logistical support functions for the GDC.ME Team Logistics/Supply Chain Management (LSCM) organization. This role ensures equipment operational readiness (OR) rates are met by means of ordering, accounting, stocking, issue, transfer, and receipt of spares and consumable parts and equipment assigned by the customer.

Major Duties and Responsibilites:

• Supply Chain Operations:
       o Orders, receives, inspects, stows, preserves, packages, ships, and issues materials/cargo.
       o Unloads incoming inventory from trucks; stocks inventory onto shelf locations; picks inventory; 
          prepares repair shipments to OEM; assembles kits; manages window for issues/returns.
       o Performs inventory cycle counts; researches missing parts and reports any discrepancies.

• Inventory Management:
       o Maintains and warehouses inventory and performs automated parts operations.
       o Utilizes logistics management information systems (MIS) for tracking and reporting purposes.
       o Ensures proper documentation and tagging of serviceable and unserviceable items.

• Quality Assurance:
       o Implements quality control measures to ensure all supplies meet required specifications.
       o Conducts inspections of incoming and outgoing supplies to ensure compliance with standards.

• Coordination and Communication:
       o Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely availability of required supplies.
       o Communicates effectively with vendors, contractors, and customer units.
       o Prepares and submits required reports and documentation.

• Safety and Compliance:
       o Ensures adherence to safety regulations and procedures during supply operations.
       o Conducts safety briefings and training sessions for supply personnel.

Minimum Qualification:

     High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Experience:
       o Minimum of 5 years of broad-based experience in supply distribution, warehousing, and packaging 
          required.
       o Previous experience in an Army supply role or similar position highly desirable.

• Skills and Competencies:
       o Proficient in the use of logistics management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
       o Strong organizational and time management skills.
       o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
       o Ability to perform detailed inspections and maintain accurate records.
       o Knowledge of Army supply regulations and standards.

Pereferred Qualification:

• Post-Secondary Education (i.e., Associate Degree) or military training preferred.
