Job Requirements:
Responsible for material requisition, inventory management, and logistics coordination and ensuring aviation-related supplies, tools, and equipment are procured, managed, and distributed effectively to support operational needs. This multifaceted role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and expertise in both document management and aviation supply logistics. Requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of aviation supply chain regulations and procedures which involves collaborating with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate inventory records, facilitate timely deliveries, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The Aviation Supply Specialist also plays a key role in analyzing supply data, utilizing ERP systems (such as SAP, G21, RAMCO, or similar platforms) to manage aviation supply chain operations, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in aviation supply chain operations. Overall, the Aviation Supply Specialist contributes to the operational readiness and success of aviation operations by providing responsive and reliable support in managing the flow of supplies and equipment essential for mission-critical activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
● Initiate, process, and track material requisitions for aviation-related supplies and equipment, ensuring timely fulfillment of operational needs.
● Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, locations, and status, to facilitate efficient inventory control and replenishment.
● Facilitate transportation and logistics support for incoming and outgoing shipments of aviation supplies, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with policies and regulations.
● Communicate with the procurement section to obtain quotes, place orders, and track deliveries, resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
● Inspect incoming supplies for quality and accuracy, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards before acceptance and distribution.
● Utilizing ERP systems (such as SAP, G21, RAMCO or similar platforms)
● Maintain documentation related to supply transactions, including purchase orders, receipts, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
● Analyze supply data, including usage trends and inventory levels, to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
● Provide responsive and effective customer service to internal customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing support as needed.
● Ensure compliance with aviation supply chain regulations, policies, and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
● Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in aviation supply chain operations, making recommendations and implementing changes as appropriate.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, and procurement, to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with organizational goals and objectives.
● Participate in training programs and initiatives to enhance knowledge and skills in aviation supply chain management practices and systems.
● Functions as the Assistant Lead Aviation Supply Specialist.
● Attendance and presentations at meetings and conferences may be required.
● All other duties as assigned.
Skills Description
Minimum Qualifications:
● Secondary school graduate certificate or equivalent years of relevant experience required. preferred. (Certifications of supply preferred)
● Minimum of 4 years of broad-based experience in the fields of supply, distribution, warehousing, and packaging required.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to supervise students and interact with customers professionally and courteously.
● Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
● Valid driver's license is necessary.
Pereferred Qualifications:
● Post-secondary education (i.e. associate's degree) or higher.
● Certifications in supply and/or logistics.
● Experience in aviation supply chain management, with desired experience specifically in US Army Aviation logistics/supply chain.
● Experience as a US Army service school instructor or civilian equivalent.
