Quality Assurance Specialist I

Job Requierments:

The Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) reports to the Aviation Quality Manager and supports Team GDC MEs Quality Management System by conducting internal audits, surveillance, and investigations. This role evaluates compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and established procedures by collecting objective evidence through interviews, documentation review, and on-site assessments. QAS must be able to apply a full range of principles, concepts, and methodologies related to the quality assurance functional programs. 

Major Duties and Responsibilites:

- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with AS9100/AS9110/AS9120, contractual requirements, and internal company procedures. 

- Applies a wide range of methods, principles, and practices directly related to quality assurance fields; statistical analysis, control and sampling, quality data analysis and evaluation to determine compliance.

- Incorporates thorough and detailed QA knowledge in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and ensuring corrective action on complex quality problems.

- Develops and implements a surveillance plan which begins with clear objectives supported by a master schedule that includes identification of required audits.

- Perform random surveillance throughout Team GDC ME operations to verify proper procedures, documentation, and paperwork usage. 

- Initiate, coordinate, and support Corrective Action Plans (CAP), including root cause analysis and verification that corrective actions adequately address identified issues.

- Review CAP responses to ensure root causes are addressed and corrective actions are effective

- Maintain/retain Audit Working Documents (AWD), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), root cause analyses, and consequent Corrective Action Plans (CAP). 

- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Minimum of three (5) years of aviation-related work experience in quality assurance, aviation maintenance operations management, aviation maintenance, or aviation logistics experience.  

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Ability to communicate well in English, possess strong customer relationship skills and demonstrated motivation for continual improvement and professional development.

- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Aviation Standards (i.e. AS9100).

- Must have or be able to achieve upon employment certification for AS9100:2016 Lead Auditor.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as aerospace, aviation maintenance, quality management, or equivalent industry experience.

- Minimum two (2) or more years of internal auditing experience within the aviation industry.
